I just got ma hair cut kinda emo. It's got short layers. and then it's long on the bottom. Idk how to do the styling. I try, but cant seem to pull of that thing where your hair looks dry, but it sticks up, and looks really edgy. I know pomade and wax is good. Any other ideas? Thanx lots.
try texturizing cream. i used tigi bed head manipulator and found that it works well. i think for the style you're going for, the bed head products are a good choice. good luck and i hope i helped

i dont like ur bangs on u.. theyre too straight and they look weird on u. get a bob, it could look sooo good on u. the bangs would be better as side bangs.

i dont think you need a new "specific" style, it just needs jazzing up..a lot!
what i recommend is that you keep the length,
get lots and lots of choppy layers which will give this a lot more of a modern day look,
and get the fringe layered, and cut into a side fringe position.
Colour your hair to a shade lighter, a more chocolate brown that will give you and instant look..
or maybe you could go blonde.
A nice honey blonde would definately suite you.
Its the simplest things you can do to liven up that hair! lol

you need to angle your bangs and get them texturized. they gave your bangs a blunt cut. your hair is thick so you are lucky, you can get layers and your hair would look better if you curled it.

I have hair just the same.. for my deb my hairdresser put lots of hairspray on individual strands and curled it with the straightening iron.. it stayed in from 9am on a saturday morning until the sunday afternoon

well dont do wet hair. if your hair is already straight then you need to keep it dry and down and it shouldnt be a lot of trouble at all. maybe you can crimp your hair, wave it or imprint designs. there are also many different ways to use accesories. you can use headbands, pantyhose(not literallly), and scrunchies and stuff. youd be surprised at how many different ways there are to have your hair.

make sure you're using a good conditioner. and don't be lazy. when you get out of the shower, blow dry it downward it will look so much better than leaving it dry. also you could use thick, shiny, plastic headbands. they are cute and will make your hair look fabulous no matter what =]
Bun or a poney tail it looks cute but not all "made up"
try putting gel in it when you blow it dry, or use a round brush when you dry it to give it more volume.
I would say to go to the hairdresser, get it cut so it is really short in the back and gradually get longer as you go from the back towards the front... I love this style, just don't have the face to sport it, much to roundfaced for it...

I'm trying to design a haircut for my sister. She has reallyreally long hair and its brown and pretty straight but a little frizzy/curlyish. I like shorter hair better and i think it would look better on her so I'm having her cut it a couple inches below the shoulders with layers in the front and back. She has a really severe part and so I want her to get some sort of bangs, but it's right in the middle so side bangs don't really work. Could you send me pictures/suggestions of a good bang style?

Okay I'm growing my hair out from my relaxed hair to my natural hair I do realize that eventually the relaxed hair will have to be cut off I am aware of this! I just want to wait till my new growth gets to a length I am comfortable with so what I'm wondering is what are some good transition styles... I do not want braids since they tend to dry out my hair. Would straw curls be good, roller set,... anything else?

Straw sets, roller sets, flat twists, bantu knots, and french braids might work. I was transitioning too but I got irritated after 2 weeks and I cut it all off. I think a straw set will probably be the best way to go because you hair will still be able to move but ou dont have to do anything to it. If you go to nappturality.com there is this forum all about transitioning and you can ask all of the questions you want and a lot of people will support you. You just have to become a member first but its free so it should be a piece of cake!

Well, if you have a long hair, try to curl it and make 2 pony-tales.
just put it in a pony tail. take a rubber band and tie you hair with it. walah there you have it a pony tail. lol .............no im serious. no broblem i love helping people.
If you're using a straightener, curler or even a blow dryer you should always use a heat protection spray. Chi and Tresemme are the best products I've used. Just mist hair with it before using appliance, but don't soak your hair in it.

Heat protectant. I use Treseme Heat Tamer and it works really good and doesn't smell bad or leaves hair oily. And another one made by chi I think it's called "Chi Infra Treatment"

My hair is curly when I don't blow dry it and straighten it massively. When I don't have time to fool with it I will pull the front back and bobby pin it or put a really cute barrette in it. Or I will pull the front section back and pin it with bobby pins, then pull sections up and bobby pining them. It looks really cute. If your hair doesn't stay in place real good you may need to spray it with hairspray before you fix it and after you fix it. That way it will stay in place

You could try a layered look. I have naturally curly hair, too, and that seems to be working for me. I use Aussie sprunch spray, then either mousse or gel for curly hair (depending on how curly you want it). I also have bangs that either sweep to the side, or curl down on my forehead (depending on if they behave or not).
That's the same kind of hair i have! I usually straighten it...but when i want it curly, I either wear it down, kinda like that other persons idea about having the surfer hair (nice idea!), or i only straighten my bangs, and one little braid to the side of my head. With a head band. It works with long hair, it might work with shoulder length hair too.

The newest craze is the edgy short crop cuts, check out Top Model on wednesdays at 8 you can get a lot of ideas. You will love it, I know it is hard but at your age it is a good look to shock yourself and everybody else with an edgy short cut, check out Rhianna or that girl from the spice girls, posh spice, their cuts are nice. My stylist says the only rule is not to shampoo it for 48 hours. She encourages me to use mousse to keep it under control when it's new. Also, she urges me to use Perm Fresh shampoo and conditioner (I've also used Coldwell products for permed hair, and they're excellent).
You should be able to shampoo, but some products may damage the hair. You should ask the person who did it , they should have some advice for you.

Go to your local Sally Beauty Supply store for a large selection of Professional products. You will find a much better quality product and larger selection at Sally vs a drug store/grocery store.

The modern bun, or chignon, is a favorite hairstyle among fashionable women. It's surprisingly quick and easy, and it's sure to win you a few admiring glances.
Instructions
閳ヮ敼TEP 1: Begin with clean, dry, tangle-free hair. You may opt to blow curly or wavy hair straight for a smoother look. Work a little mousse through your hair and tame any flyaway hair with a drop of anti-frizz serum before starting your chignon.
閳ヮ敼TEP 2: Brush your hair back into a low ponytail. Shorter side layers can be pinned back with jeweled hair pins or a head band. Get a firm grip around the base of the ponytail and use your other hand to twist the tail into a tight spiral.
閳ヮ敼TEP 3: Hold the base of the ponytail with one hand, then lift the tail straight up with the other. Begin to coil it clockwise around the base. When you've made half of a circle, release the hand holding the base and use it to hold the forming bun as you continue to coil the tail of the chignon.
閳ヮ敼TEP 4: Complete one rotation - a little more if you have longer hair - then tuck the end of the tail under the chignon. If your hair is long enough, you might be able to push the tail through the bun and make a knot.
閳ヮ敼TEP 5: Secure the chignon using a few prong-shaped bobby pins or a hair stick. Push one pin through at any outside edge, collecting a small amount of the bun as you make the insertion. Secure the opposite side with a second pin. If you're using a hair stick, push the tip up through the right corner of your chignon, so that a thin flat layer rests on top of the stick. Rotate the stick 180 degrees and push it gently through the base of the bun. As the stick begins to emerge, hook a small amount of hair on the underside of the left corner, then center the stick.
Tips %26amp; Warnings
閳ヮ敳et your fingers do the work. With a little practice they'll learn where to put all of the things you can't see. Look at the final results and let your fingers feel areas that might need an adjustment.
閳ヮ敧o not pull or twist your hair too hard - hairs might break or fall out.
閳ヮ敽ake care not to poke your scalp when inserting pins and hair sticks. If you encounter any resistance, remove the fastener and begin again.

Buns are the easiest hair do ever, just put your hair into a pony tail, twist the ponytail around the bottom and then circle the top where your hair band is, use bobby pins to secure your hair there and then place the chopsticks through diagonally.
What I usually do is take the chopstick, stick it in about an inch into the bun, and then point the chopstick up as if going over a bump, and then poking it back down again. It gives a better grip of the chopstick in your hair and holds it better. Try this with the other chopstick as well, if you're using two.
Otherwise, you can always secure the bun with a hairtie matching your haircolor and stick the chopstick through anyway. I'm sure no one will notice, or care.

do a low ponytail and then twist your hair and while you are twisting it do a normal bun in the hair. then once the bun is there jam the chopstick into the centre of the bun - this part might hurt if your not used to putting chopsticks in your hair. anyway this is easier to do in thinner, shorter hair and long thick hair may not remain in a bun.
because i have the long thick hair i just make a normal bun with hair ties and then put the chopstick in my hair after the bun has been secured with hair ties...good luck - it may take a few tries to get the bun to stay after putting the chopstick in.
using two chopsticks is another option if the bun doesn't stay.

It isn't how long you've spent styling it that's important. It's what it looks like! If you've spent AGES styling it and it still looks a mess, no one is going to be impressed. Whereas if your hair looks great even if you haven't spent long on it, who's to know otherwise.

No,it's better to have a style that looks great,but does not require allot of time to do. If it takes a long time to make it look decent then there is something wrong with the cut or style. if you spend to much time styling your hair,it could look over styled or wiggish and that's not a good look.

If you're looking for a new hairstyle, the first step is a good cut. Maybe some layers, possibly side bangs or w/e you want :) Then just blow it dry and maybe straighten it, that gives you more control over the style. Hope that helps!

i am getting my hair cut next week by like the best beautician i have ever meet and i want to change my style.
right now i have side parted bangs (to the right), layers(shortest is about 8 1/2'), and it is shoulder blade length. What i really want to do is to straiten my hair, but my hair is way to thick for that (its overly thick, thats why i get layers). my hair is slightly wavy and unmanageable (dark red color).

Eyes
Dust a light shade of Light Pink over the lids. Then brush a darker shade of pink in a half moon from your lashes to just above the crease to add depth.

My prom dress was pink and this is what I did: I had my hair all curled and half up (the front was in twists and then my stylist pinned up pieces so that it was half up- i would suggest you play around at home just to see what hairstyle you think looks best, so then you're prepared when you go to the stylist), my nails I kept simple (I painted them a pale pink-same color as my dress- and had a firework design on each ring finger nail and i got my toes to match-except the design was on my big toes-- if you feel that it's too much pink then I would suggest a french manicure and pedicure), and my make-up I kept pretty simple too; I used Jergens Tanning lotion for a week before prom just to give myself a subtle glow because I am also fair skinned, since my face was a little tan I didn't use any foundation, I put on a little bit of bronzer to make my cheeks glow (bronzer with a little of sparkle in it), then used a very pale pink eye shadow and brightened my eyes by using black eyeliner and lash lengthening mascara. Just by keeping it simple I felt really pretty and not overdone and I got a lot of compliments all night long.

Do not use pink eyeshadow...Try not to match your makeup to your dress color. You are wearing the dress ...the dress is not wearing you!

Simply beautiful! Match your fingers and toes to the dress or even better go with a french on both. Hair could all go up in a full updo or half up and half down. If you have nice shoulders and neck go all up. Go to a few makeup counters or MAC cosmetic stores with a color picture of your dress and ask them what they think. I wouldn't go with too much pink or you may disappear in the dress. Remember you either play up your eyes or your lips not both. Look into maybe good false eyelashes. Iff you have the dress already experiment with some help form those around you (Mom, sister girlfriends..). Enjoy your prom and again what a dress you are going to look hot!!
You have a few good options for nail polish. A clean french manicure would look classy and go with just about any outfit. You could try using a sheer pink or slightly irredescent base with off-white tips to dress it up too.
You porbably want to stay away from any darker or bright colors (even pink), but sheer pink would look sweet as would lavender or even sheer white.

I want a new hair style, with a longish swooping fringe from my right hand side to left, that ends in a soft point, and it being feathered/shaped but not from my face, from about half way down my neck. Find a picture of Michelle Ryan in her role, then take it in to your hairdresser. You can probably find one on the web by calling up that particular film clip. If you can't find it, try drawing it. If you don't have any confidence in your ability to draw, then you probably know someone who can draw what you describe.

just tell your hairdresser that you want a side fringe cut in from the side that you want, they will have hair magazines in the salon that you can have a look through too if not type in fringes/side fringes on google images and see what somes up.

Okay well, yesterday I got my haircut and now it is probably 2 inches below my shoulder and its just seriously like bunches of layers on top of that. It's the kind of cut that many asian girls have. Now my hair is extremely thin (it used to be really thick before) with the shortest layer starting at my ear. The only way of styling that I can come up with for this cut that looks nice is straightening it everyday but I don't want to keep it like that forever. Is there any other way for me to style my hair so it goes well with this type of haircut? :)
With the cute asian hair cut, you can make REALLY cute high pony tails with hair pieces falling out. You can also put them into cute pigtails becuase the hair is short and layered. Let pieces fall out of the pony tails becuase it will make it look cuter.

try crimping it. if you dont have a crimper... try a wavy look on the bottom hair peices and not as wavy but still wavy at the top... also... try curling it... i have "messy curls" but i reallly just have wavy hair. i sleep in curlers and curl it with hot rollers in the morning.. it looks amazing!
Get a Straightner and go on layers and run it down your layer and then at the end curl it with the straitgtnerr

I agree making your hair wavy, giving it texture will also add to the illusion of fullness....but despise the idea of crimping!! Don't crimp your hair...EVER! lol...but do use a curling iron. I reccomend you go out and purchase a big Conair curling iron from Wal Mart of other source...for $12.00. This will become your new best friend. Go through your hair starting with the shortest layer and just curl...starting with the iron at the root and loosening and turning until it has curled the entire length of the hair. Hold in place for about 4 seconds once you have all of the hair around the iron. Repeat this all over your head with relatively medium sections of hair until all of your hair is curled. Then, work through with fingers or a very large toothed comb. This should give you a fun new style and make your hair look fuller.

pony tails are in and braids. The "in" ponytail is wore low on the head and take some hair and wrap around it to hide the band. Secure the hair with a bobby pin.
long layers, light waves, hair pulled back in a sleek pony tail after you put some of it back in a hair pin of some kind. or you could just do the sleek pony tail. that's what i do anyway. it's cute. or you could pin back your bangs and let the ends flip out a bit with some long layers. that's a really cute style too.

leave it long try to grow it out i don't like short hair in the summer because its hard to make a pony tail and it gets in your way when you doing an activity try braiding it or pony tail
buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.
then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......
and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.
and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....
you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....
as for hairbands, very cute and in!!! definitely!!!
u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....
